JointChoice aims to collect only the information needed to operate the service, understand whether it is working and meet legal or security requirements.
Information you provide
If you contact JointChoice, create an account in a future feature or deliberately submit information, we may process the details you provide so we can deliver that feature or respond to you. Optional decision answers are used to produce the recommendation experience presented to you.
Technical and preference information
The site may process basic request and security information needed to operate safely. Your selected language is stored in a functional cookie and your optional analytics/marketing choice is stored locally in your browser. Optional analytics information should only be collected where the relevant consent has been given.
Affiliate link records
When you choose a retailer link, JointChoice may record the product, retailer, offer, destination, referring JointChoice page, time of the click and a one-way monthly hash derived from the request IP address. The raw IP address is not deliberately stored in the affiliate click record. These records help with link security, troubleshooting and reconciling affiliate performance.
Retailers and affiliate networks
After you leave JointChoice, the retailer or affiliate network becomes responsible for its own website, cookies, attribution technology and privacy practices. JointChoice may receive transaction or commission reports from affiliate partners so that referrals can be reconciled.
How information may be used
Information may be used to provide site features, respond to enquiries, improve recommendation quality, maintain security, identify broken or fraudulent affiliate traffic, reconcile commissions and meet legal obligations.
Your choices
You can reject optional technologies from the cookie banner and reopen your preferences using the Cookie settings link. Core recommendations and ordinary retailer links remain available when optional consent is rejected.
