How preferences are stored
JointChoice keeps optional analytics and marketing technologies switched off unless you choose them. Your privacy choice is stored in your browser as jcConsent using local storage so the site can remember it without loading optional tracking.
Essential and functional cookies
JointChoice may use an essential session cookie where a secure site function needs a session. The jc_lang functional cookie remembers the language you select for up to one year. These are used to provide the service you request rather than for advertising.
Analytics
Analytics technologies may be introduced to help us understand how visitors use JointChoice. They must not load until analytics consent has been given. The current consent system is designed so optional scripts can listen for that choice before loading.
Marketing and affiliate tracking
Following a retailer button does not require you to accept JointChoice marketing cookies. The retailer or affiliate network you visit may set its own cookies or use other attribution technologies after you leave JointChoice. Their own privacy and cookie terms, attribution windows and choices then apply.
Changing your choice
You can reopen the preference panel at any time. Rejecting optional technologies does not stop the core JointChoice service or ordinary affiliate links from working.
